NewLit Creative Writing Workshops

New Literary Project leads creative writing workshops at high schools and afterschool programs throughout the Bay Area. Ninety percent of students come from underserved communities. These workshops are taught by Bonetti-Bell Fellows, who are creative writing teachers from The UC Berkeley, English Department, and Iris Starn Fellows, who are MFA candidates from Saint Mary’s College of California in Moraga. In Spring of 2024, the Bonetti-Bell and Starn Fellows lead eight writing workshops at Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall, Girls Inc. of Alameda County (2), Albany High School, Northgate High School, Emery High, Concord High School, and Hayward High School. To learn more about the Bonetti-Bell Fellowship and the Iris Starn Fellowship, please visit their program pages.
